Trapdoor Spider is the online handle of Taras Stasiuk, who is uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person.

I am a writer, actor, teacher, counsellor, musician, jester, etc.

I have parents who read to me when I was young, who in my heart I thank for this every day.

I have two university degrees, BAs in English Lit and Psychology.

I wrote my first story in 1980, when I was 8 years old. On an application recently I was asked how many years of work experience I have, and I answered 25. I had some great teachers when I was growing up, especially Mrs.G who oversaw my first stories and JW who directed an early stage performance. I think people should exalt teaching above any other profession. Who would you be without the people (loved ones included) who taught you? Who could you be?
